A road movie set in Sri Lanka that follows a protagonist as she searches for the work of renowned local architect Geoffrey Bawa. This is a journey to the heart and soul of the island and explores what it is to be an architect and a filmmaker. Bawa’s Garden is a meditative exploration of the life and work of Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, a man widely considered to be one of the most influential Asian architects of his generation. The film’s narrator travels across Sri Lanka, interviewing Bawa’s friends and colleagues, collecting anecdotes and insights, revealing a philosophy which extends far beyond the craft of architecture. Poetic and reflective, Bawa’s Garden encourages us to view the world from a different angle, with a fresh perspective.
