How does architecture respond to our climate and ecological emergencies? How does urban design respond to women’s safety and community cohesiveness?

Gbolade Design Studio are celebrating 5 years of practice and ‘Breaking Ground’ is set up as a provocation to the public. We are living with the consequences of an extractive design and construction system. How must we now act to become responsible and inclusive stewards of our future.

The exhibition explores five key themes using the practices’ projects which adopt sustainable and regenerative approaches to respond to some of these pressing issues in society. Themes include; city-shaping, retrofit, net-zero homes, community-building, and innovation in construction.
