Clive England (Thomas Ford & Partners) and Ingrid Petit (Feilden Fowles) join us for this lunchtime talk – part of a series celebrating RIBA award-winning buildings.
Hosted by Jo McCafferty (Levitt Bernstein), the panel will be sharing the unique story behind St John’s Church, Hackney and The Fratry - followed by a live interactive Q&A session.
St John’s Church, Hackney by Thomas Ford & Partners with John Pawson - Externally, a neo-classical Georgian parish church with a generous entrance portico stands. What lies within, however, is a true diversification of an Anglican place of worship into a centre for the arts and a world class music and events venue. An exemplary model of how to ensure churches can be brilliant resources and hubs for their local community, it won a 2022 RIBA National Award and London Award.
The Fratry by Feilden Fowles - The project articulates an inspiring journey from concept to occupation; creating an engaging piece of placemaking where community input has enabled the delivery of social value, a piece of city pride and inclusivity. It won a 2022 RIBA National Award, North West Award and North West Project Architect of the Year Award.
