Researching the history of the Stream Garden and the genesis of the Rookery and Streatham Common in south London. Speaker: Dr Lee Heykoop.

FOLAR offers three different perspectives on the defence of open space from an era which saw the founding of the Institute of Landscape Architects.

In Talk 2, Dr Heykoop will describe her 2018 project, involving a team of wonderful volunteers, to research the history of what became known as the Stream Garden at the Rookery, Streatham Common, in south London. The presentation will follow the genesis of Streatham Common and the Rookery, their social uses and their making and planting, including some original plant lists of the Stream Garden.
