Cody Dock is an oasis of nature which connects the former docklands, the river Lea and the new developments in East London.

Cody Dock Rolling Bridge is a delightful example of an idea which serendipitously found its home. A new way of opening a bridge based on a chance viewing of a bicycle with square wheels. Here is an opportunity to hear from the team who designed, built and made a home for the bridge - Simon Myers Gasworks Dock Partnership, Tom Randall-Page architect, Price and Myers engineers and Cake Industries fabricators .

Join us for refreshments and a demonstration of the opening and closing of the bridge along with presentations of some truly dazzling thinking, calculating and fabricating which brought this all to fruition.

There will also be an opportunity to view other structures on the site including, most recently, The Growing Space by The University of Westminster and Webb Yates Engineers.

Organiser

The Engineering Club

About The Engineering Club was founded in 1987 to host events about the broad culture of engineering in an informal setting. It is now an association of building engineers (and some architects) that promote the role of engineering in cities and in society as a whole.
