In conversation with Jo Bacon, Gary will give a short introduction to how the scientific community are in unanimous agreement that we have until 2030 to deliver a net zero carbon future or face unimageable climate consequences. The built environment emits up to 40% of these carbon emissions. Do we have the knowledge, skills, will, and successful examples to deliver this future?

Gary Clark the Chair of the RIBA Sustainable Futures Group will give a short introduction to the main suite of RIBA Sustainable Design guidance and how this is integrated into the latest Plan of Work 2020. The talk will distil the DNA of a sustainable building, and demonstrate with a selected group of case studies, that a sustainable future is achievable now, and that there are no barriers to achieving a net zero carbon built environment.

Speaker: Gary Clark, Regional Leader of Science + Technology, HOK London Studio
