Talk + networking reception: Monday, 17 July
Ben Derbyshire’s recent book Home Truths is informed by 50 years as a housing architect and is an expansive view of building well, building for longevity, and learning from successful historic buildings.
As the chair of HTA Design and ex RIBA president, Ben’s career has been rooted in housing and community engaged design. HTA Design led the Community Architecture movement in the 1980s and later established its own Social Research unit; this knowledge and belief in housing for people runs throughout Home Truths and led one reviewer to label is as a “tough love” manifesto for architects and developers.
Join Peter Murray OBE, Chair of Temple Bar London, in conversation with Ben Derbyshire and Patricia Brown as they expand on the themes of Home Truths and discuss what the future of housing must look like as expectations grow that a new government might shift direction for the sector.
