Whilst many of our street markets are not quite the jam-packed, bustling, noisy environments they once were, most are still thriving, albeit adapted and reduced in size, offering a wide range of products and produce.
This presentation 'travels' around 11 central London locations* on 10-mile virtual journey. Using photos and maps I will show you Berwick Street, Leather Lane, Whitecross Street, Lower Marsh and more. Some of these markets are still trading daily, others just open at weekends, but all are situated along roads that are usually open to traffic.
We'll look at the colourful history of these historic streets and how the markets have changed as our shopping opportunities have increased.
After the tour the meeting room will stay open for questions and discussion.
