Bubbles have been a familiar concept during the pandemic, but this is one you’ve never seen before. Music of the Spheres will see performers in huge transparent globes move through the audience and float on the water of the docks, with musicians, aerial performers, and lights.

The show begins with dancers and musicians moving through the audience in land-based spheres. Then, open your ears to performances on unusual instruments from around the world as musicians play under a large sculptural canopy.

The grande finale sees Simon Desorgher perform a piece of flute music he’s composed especially for this occasion, based on a theme from Debussy’s La Mer.

As the music plays, a giant sphere the size of a four-story building is launched onto the Docks with aerial dancer Claire Crook inside, spinning and spiraling on silks suspended from the centre. The sphere performs a ballet on the lake as it moves over the surface of the water.
