In this highly anticipated event, author and broadcaster Lemn Sissay will give a reading from his Sunday Times bestseller, My Name is Why. In reflecting on childhood in care, self-expression and Britishness, Lemn invites you to explore the institutional care system, race, family and the meaning of home.

Lemn will be in conversation with author S.I. Martin.

About the speaker

Lemn Sissay is a critically-acclaimed author, broadcaster and speaker. He was the official poet for the 2012 London Olympics, and has received several notable awards, including a BAFTA nomination and the PEN Pinter Prize in 2019.

S.I. Martin works with museums, archives and the education sector to bring diverse histories to wider audiences. He has published six books of historical fiction and non-fiction for adult and teenage readers.
