The Summer Exhibition is the world’s oldest open submission exhibition – which means that anyone can enter their work to be considered for inclusion. It’s happened every year since 1769, and each year a Royal Academician, such as Yinka Shonibare RA, Grayson Perry RA and Jock McFadyen RA, coordinates the exhibition.

Entry to the Summer Exhibition 2023 is now open. The submission deadline is 23:59 (GMT) on Tuesday 14 February. If you would like to find out about the submission process, please visit our FAQs.

All works are submitted digitally for the first round of judging and shortlisted works are delivered to the Academy for the final round. Please note that the number entries is capped at 16,500, so please purchase yours soon in order to avoid disappointment.
