About the tour and guide
At first glance the City of London is an urban concrete jungle, but behind and between its modern buildings there are hundreds of green and open places beyond the public eye. These small oases of calm allow us to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
On this walk we will find several fascinating places via forgotten stairs that lead to beautiful gardens, old churches, and obscure bits and pieces of the urban fabric.
On the way we pass through the Roman, Medieval, and Victorian layers of the City’s rich history.
Route: there are a lot of steps and stairs on the walk, but plenty of seating opportunities at various tour stops.
Guide: Irina Malyugina moved to London in 2011 and became a self-taught tour guide - almost accidentally - doing her first tour about the City of London.

The Golden Key Academy
This tour is led by a participant of Open City’s Golden Key Academy – a course training up insightful and engaging guides dedicated to explaining London and bringing its many stories to life. It is part of a wider collection of tour events created by Golden Key Academy guides for Open House Festival celebrating their conclusion of the sixth month course.
