There is an increasing awareness about the environmental and health benefits of urban trees, yet the quality of greenspace around social housing estates is variable. This webinar will initiate a discussion and programme of work around how we can create high quality green landscapes which increase tree canopy cover to improve resilience to climate change and promote the wellbeing of residents. There will be contributions from three perspectives: one of London's largest social housing managers and providers; an NGO involved in the greening of Racecourse Estate in Ealing; and community group representatives from Brighton and Camden (TBC), who will share their experiences, successes and challenges, and hopes for the future for tree care and planting on housing estates. Join us as we begin to explore how we can all play a part to ensure trees and woodlands are firmly on the agenda for social housing residents and providers.

Chair/Host: Kristina Jansons-Binns, Development Manager, Trees for Cities
Speakers: Dr Phil Askew, Director of Landscape and Placemaking in Thamesmead for Peabody; Klaudija Alasauskaite, Development Manager at Trees for Cities; Alan Cooke, Volunteer, Craven Vale Community Association, Brighton; and Mik Jenn, founder of the Camden Forest initiative (TBC).
