Meet the artist and air quality scientist empowering London's residents to stand up for cleaner air.
Andrew Grieve wants to give the people of London ownership over the air they breathe. Using a new breed of small sensors and data analytics, his team's Breathe London project is creating the capital's first air quality sensing community made by Londoners for Londoners.
This new approach to air quality measuring also influenced the project’s unique visual aesthetic and prompted collaboration with artists and illustrators.
Funded by an initial investment by the Mayor of London to roll out more than 100 new sensors at schools, hospitals and co-location sites across the city, as the project prepares to open its network so anyone can buy and install devices in their local community, we will hear from Andrew and artistic collaborator Kat Flint as they discuss their hopes for the project.
