Join Katarina Bonnevier and Olivier Vallerand in a dialogue around queer domesticity, representations of queerness in architecture, and queer feminist positions within institutions.
Bonnevier, founding member of the Sweden-based architecture, art and design collective MYCKET, will introduce tactics, situations and matters developed through artistic research on queer feminist architecture from her book Behind Straight Curtains (axl books, 2007) to MYCKET’s latest publication When walls speak (GLU #1, 2021). Vallerand, assistant professor at Université de Montréal in Canada, will expand on the genealogy of queer space theory developed in his book Unplanned Visitors: Queering the Ethics and Aesthetics of Domestic Space (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2020), focusing on how interiority challenges normative ideas about space.
This is a live online event. Please register for more details. Information on how to join will be sent out in the week before the event.
