Starr Cinema

The Starr Cinema is Tate Modern's newly renamed and refurbished home for film, hosting a varied programme of events and screenings. The cinema's new digital projector supports all digital and video formats, as well as 16 and 35mm film. Starr Cinema is also one of only 14 UK cinemas with cutting-edge Dolby Atmos® surround sound technology. Structured into three regular strands – Pioneers, Artists' Cinema and Counter-Histories – Tate Film’s Cinema Programme brings together works from different traditions of cinematic and artistic practice, exploring, challenging and asserting the place of the moving image within the museum of the 21st century.
