De-consecrated in 1971, the Zion Chapel on Malham Road has since been used for a variety of light industrial and office purposes. Acquired in 2016, the building remained empty until works started in early 2020 to renovate and rejuvenate it.
Working with Tate & Co (formerly Tate Harmer Architects), plans were drawn up to replace the temporary racking floor system with a proper floor, open the space up as much as possible and add unique reclaimed and re-purposed features such as the balustrade and bar.
With its vast open plan top floor with far reaching views over south east London, The Old Chapel is being lovingly and carefully refurbished and celebrated.
